Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC): The WIC Program provides supplemental foods, nutrition education and health care referrals to low-income pregnant, breastfeeding and postpartum women, as well as to infants and children up to age 5 who are at nutritional risk. WIC Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (FMNP): This program provides fresh, nutritious unprepared produce (such as fruits and vegetables) to WIC participants from farmers' markets. Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP): The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides benefits for low-income people to use to buy food to improve their diets. Nutrition Assistance For Puerto Rico: Puerto Rico provides citizens with nutrition assistance in the form of benefits and cash through the Commonwealth's electronic benefits transfer system.
